The Foundation will work with local football teams throughout Durham, Northumberland and Teesside, to provide helpers and coaches, to encourage more participants, and improve the quality of performance.

It will liaise with the business fraternity throughout the region to encourage employees to take an active part in their local soccer clubs, by encouraging them to assist the coaches in the regular training routine, and taking the necessary courses to become qualified coaches themselves.

The region’s professional clubs do a tremendous amount of work in the community, and we will work with them to attract extra helpers and coaches, who will then be linked to a suitable local club.

With the help of George Courtney, FIFA World Cup Referee, and other highly qualified North Eastern referees, we will work with the three Football Associations to increase the number of people who wish to become actively involved as officials.
