County Durham Foundation

The Tony Blair Sports Foundation will have its own small team of dedicated staff, but will be administered by County Durham Foundation, to benefit from their expertise in running efficient and effective charities within the region.

Established in 1995, County Durham Foundation is an independent grant-making charity. Its purpose is to support community-based projects that make a real difference to the quality of life for local people who are disadvantaged.

The Foundation acts as a vehicle for individuals, families, trusts and companies who want to put something back into their local community either in their lifetime or through leaving a legacy. All of the grants made are funded by direct donations to the Foundation or by interest generated and any capital growth from endowments held by fund-holding partners.

A wide variety of causes are supported through grants to local people, groups and projects including community regeneration, sport, children and young people, education bursaries and learning, the arts, environment, improving health and families in need.
